    Sutter Health is pleased to offer Sutter Community Connect, Epic’s electronic health record (EHR) and practice management system for use by independent physicians and other clinicians. Epic is one of the most highly regarded electronic tools available in health care today, which is why Sutter Health has elected to offer this system to the independent medical community practicing within Sutter Health service areas.

    Sutter Community Connect is a complete electronic health record (EHR) and practice management system that provides all the software tools, systems integration, training and support that a medical practice needs to deliver quality health care efficiently. This innovative technology is an essential backbone to integrated health care delivery, as it enables care coordination and communication between physicians, providers and patients. In Sutter Health’s commitment to lead the transformation of health care, Sutter Community Connect is a substantive tool to help achieve the highest levels of quality, access and affordability of health care services today.

    Sutter Health is now providing a donation to offset much of the cost a practice would otherwise incur to purchase, implement and support a robust, integrated EHR system. Recent changes to an exception in federal law and regulations now permit hospitals to subsidize a significant portion of the cost of specified electronic health record (EHR) systems and services. Sutter Health has opted to take advantage of this opportunity to reduce the cost of the Sutter Community Connect system, its implementation and ongoing support to qualified clinicians.
